Erick Lownsberry typically works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He uses a client-centered approach to therapy in addition to cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing techniques, and family/group counseling.
Erick is a veteran and a lifelong student, having earned his first degree in 2003 in General Education at Cochise Community College. In 2004 he earned a Bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University in Occupational Education, all while serving in the United States Army. Most recently Erick earned his Master’s degree from Liberty University in Professional Counseling.
Erick retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service in 2010. He worked at and eventually became the Director of CHOiCES Charter School from 2011 to 2014. CHOiCES Charter School, founded by former Chief of Police Ralph Porter, was dubbed the alternative to the alternative school for both Florence School District 1 and Darlington County School District. CHOiCES Charter School primarily serviced at-risk-youth ages 12 - 17.
